Environment

Metals Exploration has always worked to exceed all international environmental standards, and will continue to follow all best practice recommendations. Our efforts were recently acknowledged by winning the Presidential Mineral Industry Environment Award in November 2008. The Runruno Livelihood Foundation organises and supports various environmental activities including a seedling nursery for slope stabilisation and drill pad rehabilitation. For more information on the environmental activities of the Foundation please see the RLF page through the Corporate Responsibility menu above.

The Company prides itself on a strong ethic of environmental responsibility. All projects are designed with long-term sustainability in mind and seek to promote environmentally-friendly practices. All of our field operations comply with international regulatory guidelines and we work to ensure that we cause minimum negative impact on the environment. As part of The Runruno Foundation, we support various environmental initiatives such as the ‘Plant for Life’ campaign and the establishment of plant nurseries.

As an organisation, we operate a comprehensive environmental management and monitoring program (EMMP) which streamlines working practices and guarantees adherence to internationally recognised standards.
